Practices registered with APS are recognised as coming from "a reputable independent source that uses membership entry criteria that respond to the project health and safety competence criteria in the CDM Approved Code of Practice." APS is a member of the SSIP Forum and assesses CDM Co-ordination and Design practices.
Consultants accredited to SMAS have to have satisfied the requirements of the Core Criteria. A reasonable and robust judgement is then made to ensure that the standard for competency set out in the SSIP 'Core Criteria' has been met.
